Welcome to the car rental experience

Late arrival

If you make a reservation and do not show up at the agreed time, we have a waiting tolerance of 59 minutes, once passed it is considered a no show and the reservation is canceled.

Flight connection. If your flight is delayed or rescheduled, you must notify us of this change as soon as possible.

Nighttime wait. In case of arriving to pick up the vehicle outside our business hours, you must notify the Reservations Center (or the pick-up office), indicating the new arrival time and credit card details to confirm the wait outside of business hours. Additional charge applies (see additional rental charges)

If you know in advance that you are picking up the vehicle outside of business hours, you must prepay the waiting charge using your credit card. To confirm, you will be asked for your cell phone, credit card details and flight number. This charge is non-refundable.

Border crossing permit

If your plan includes crossing to neighboring countries, you must take into account that the mechanical coverage and towing abroad will be at the customer’s expense. This permit is paid in advance and in case of cancellation there would be no refund.

It will be subject to availability and has an additional charge (see additional rental charges). Our vehicles can only cross to Argentina.

Delivery and Return

Subject to availability and with an additional charge. To confirm this service you must contact the Reservations Center.

Documentation required when picking up the unit

The confirmation of the Reservation implies knowledge and acceptance of the conditions of the same. To consult other rental conditions, requirements, additional charges, restrictions, etc., we recommend that you enter our website: www.hertz.cl, where you will find all the specifications available.

The rental confirmation stipulates a class of vehicle or similar, rate and start and end time of the rental. The postponement, delay in the collection of the vehicle on a confirmation and stipulated time does not guarantee the availability of the category, the initial rate, unit and/or vehicle selected; this only acquires validity within the times in which it was originally requested

Reservation tolerance

The reservation tolerance will be 45 minutes. In case of modifications, please communicate it to our reservations center at 11 7090-4000 or 0810-222-3789. In case of not showing up at the stipulated time, we could cancel the reservation

Flight schedules

Please remember: Check the arrival time of your flight; if it is delayed or rescheduled and the new time is close to the closing time of our offices at the airport, you must notify us of this change.

The holder of the reservation or requesting agency will be responsible for notifying the Reservations Center or the pick-up office, the flight changes and offering the required credit card details to confirm the wait outside of business hours (if applicable), it will have an additional charge (see additional rental charges).

Border crossing permit

Check requirements and minimum advance time required for this additional. Our vehicles can only cross to Argentina. ** Take into account that for crossings the client must sign the request in original 72 business hours before so that the permit can be processed

In cases where a border crossing permit is requested, mechanical coverage and transportation abroad will be at the customer’s expense. The permit must be paid in advance and in case of cancellation there would be no refund for this concept.

If, in the event, any border is closed at the time of the return of the vehicle, the customer is responsible for the possession of the vehicle and its return. In case the vehicle is not returned to the branch indicated in the rental request, extra charges will apply.

Conditions for delivery outside the branch

Deliveries, transfers and collections of the units involve an additional charge to the rental. This type of services are carried out within specific dates and times according to the office/s and therefore are subject to availability at the time the reservation is confirmed. The quotation of this service does not imply the confirmation of it, the service is always confirmed (after consultation) at the time of confirming the reservation

It is required, for the management of this special service, without exception, the complete credit card data (number, expiration, security code, color, bank and issuing country, ICA number if it is Mastercard, etc.); likewise, the following documentation will be required prior to sending by mail:

Driver’s License and RUT (at the time of delivery of the unit, this documentation will be requested by the operator, the passenger having to present it)

Corresponding billing information The contract holder must be present to sign it at the time of delivery of the vehicle.

Reservation cancellation

The confirmation of the prepaid reservation implies the acceptance of a cancellation charge from the realization of said reservation until 24 hours prior to the date and time to pick up the unit equivalent to a predetermined amount depending on the date of pick up of the vehicle plus 4% administrative charges.

In case the cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the date and time to pick up the unit, a cancellation charge equivalent to the rate of one day of the reserved vehicle plus 4% administrative charges will be made. In cases where vehicle deliveries are requested, any modification or cancellation of the service must be communicated with at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the cost for transfers, one day of rental, plus 4% administrative charges will be billed.

In cases where the reservation includes a border crossing permit, the cost of the crossing permit will not be refunded in addition to the charges described above.

Out of hours charges

Rentals scheduled to be made outside of the office hours at the Airports have an additional charge for “night charge (after hour)” It is the responsibility of the requesting person to inform all the required data to confirm this wait (namely: passenger’s cell phone, credit card details and flight number); if not done, the wait will not be guaranteed. In the event that a night charge is requested and confirmed, it must be prepaid (by the agency requesting the reservation and/or through the passenger’s credit card), which will be debited together with the cost of ONE day of rental from the credit card with which the reservation was made and will not be refunded in case of not showing up on the originally established date and time or if the cancellation occurs within the 24 hours prior to the delivery of the vehicle

Coverages and guarantees

The rate includes coverage with deductible that varies according to the type of vehicle, this is the amount that must be paid in case of any accident as long as you do not acquire any of the additional coverages available. You can check the coverages and guarantees.
